Women’s Grappling Camp – Feb 16-22, 2009!

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? Sunshine? Sleepovers? New Friends?

Did we get your attention? Great! Do you want to improve your jiu-jitsu, escape the dreary February weather, spend a few days with other grappling gals, or just try something new? If so, come join us!

womensgrappling.org and Felicia Oh are thrilled to announce our very first Women’s Grappling Camp at the spectacular Big John McCarthy’s Ultimate Training Academy (BJMUTA) in Valencia, CA, from February 16-22, 2009. All girls, all grappling, all the time.

It doesn’t matter how much time you can get off from work or school. We have packages for three, five and seven days of camp. Only you know your own body, so you can take as many or as few classes as you want. If you need a day off or decide you need to sleep in, go for it! If you want to immerse yourself in martial arts and conditioning the whole time, and go away feeling exhausted but satisfied, knock yourself out. (Not literally, though.)

There are hotels nearby where you can stay, but for just a few dollars a night you could bring your pillow and a sleeping bag and crash at the gym. It is, like, the ultimate sleepover.

Led by women’s grappling legend Felicia Oh, and including instructors such as Valerie Worthington and Emily Kwok, our Women’s Grappling Camp has women-only programs for all fitness and experience levels, gi and no-gi training, round table discussions, plus access to all of the regular BJMUTA classes. And we’re not just spending the week on the mats – we will be doing social events such as group dinners, hiking, fishing, shopping, and maybe even a trip to Disneyland, where we will challenge Mickey to a submission-only match with no time limits. We think we can take him.

We want everybody to get the attention they need, so space is very limited and we will sell out long before the camp starts.

Hope to see you there!
